Find the logs

Ingot writes logs to ~/.ingot/logs. Attach the latest file when you report a problem.

Sign-in doesn't return to the IDE

• The handoff link is single use and expires after 60 seconds. Start the sign-in again from Account.
• If your browser blocks ingot:// links, allow it once, or use the device code: approve the code the IDE shows at /device in the portal within 10 minutes.

“Monthly tokens used up” or 402 errors

You've used this month's allowance or hit a spend cap. Check the dashboard, switch to your own keys or a local model, or upgrade. See Models & limits.

429 rate limited

Too many requests or tokens in the last minute. Wait a moment and try again.

A model is unavailable

503 model_unavailable means the gateway has no provider configured for that model right now. Pick another model or Auto; the Ingot Fast, Smart and Reasoning aliases fall back automatically.

No syntax highlighting (built from source)

Run npm run download:plugins in the Ingot repository, then restart. If you switch between browser and desktop builds, rebuild the one you run: they swap native modules in the shared node_modules.

Ollama isn't found

Make sure Ollama is running (ollama serve) and that ingot.models.ollamaUrl matches its address (default http://127.0.0.1:11434).

An MCP server doesn't start

Open the MCP tool window to see its status. Check the command is installed, and re-enter its token if it uses "${keychain}". Servers get 15 seconds to answer.

Agent edits don't appear

Edits wait in the code-change block until you accept them. Look for the code-change bar at the top of the editor or the block in the chat, and use ⌥↓ to jump to the next hunk.

Reset settings

Rename ~/.ingot/settings.json (user) or .ingot/settings.json (project) and restart Ingot.
