Extensions & themes

Ingot installs extensions, color themes and icon themes from Open VSX, the open extension registry.

Install an extension

  1. Open the Extensions tool window (or run Extensions from Find Action, ⌘⇧A).
  2. Search Open VSX, then click Install.
  3. Installed extensions can be disabled or uninstalled from the same view.

Built-in language support

Ingot ships with the common language plugins (syntax highlighting, language servers for TypeScript, JSON, CSS, HTML, Markdown and more). If you build from source, npm install downloads them; run npm run download:plugins to fetch them again.

Themes

Install a color theme or icon theme from Open VSX, then set Appearance to custom and pick the theme under Settings › Appearance › Theme.

Skills, commands and MCP

Agent capabilities aren't extensions: add rules, skills and slash commands in .ingot/, and connect tools through MCP.
